As an author, it is essential to have a blog/ website.
But what should be included there?
Well, a lot of things, actually.
Your bio: A little bit about the author, you: Introduce yourself (even if you're using a pen name). Let your visitors/ readers know who you are, what interests you, what are the important things for you, where do you live - this can be a fictional place, if you prefer to keep privacy. If you had a moment in your life, whatever it was, that made you realize, that you want to write stories, or educate people, by sharing your knowledge on a certain subject, write it in your bio, too.
Your works: Share your previous works - if you have any, and let your fans know about your plans on upcoming works, say, you're planning to write so-and-so novel, series, a course, etc. Don't give too much away just yet, but keep the excitement high.
Your social media platforms: where readers can have a conversation with you and leave you a thumbs up on your latest book, etc. So link them all up on your blog's sidebar.
Keep your blog updated with all the important news.
Tip: Make a sticky post on the welcome / home page of your blog / website. This should be an announcement of the most actual news: an upcoming book, a book that's on sale, events you're planning, etc.
